Current Opening: Development Officer (Asia)

This role reports directly to the General Manager – Cricket and plays a vital part in supporting ICC Member nations across Asia. The successful candidate will contribute to governance, training, participation growth, high-performance development, and international cricket operations.


Key Responsibilities

Governance & Administration

  • Support ICC Member associations across Asia and maintain strong professional relationships with national cricket bodies
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans, operational roadmaps, and annual budgets
  • Monitor budget utilization and ensure accurate reporting and data collection
  • Support the implementation of ICC digital tools, including LMS and data platforms
  • Provide timely assistance on ICC programs, services, and initiatives

Training & Education

  • Support the delivery of ICC-certified training programs for coaches, umpires, and curators
  • Assist in executing national cricket education strategies focused on long-term sustainability
  • Lead and manage regional tutor and assessor networks
  • Share best practices and collaborate with global ICC development teams
  • Strengthen women’s cricket by increasing the number of trained professionals

Growing Participation

  • Support Member nations in planning and delivering sustainable participation programs
  • Develop and monitor girls’ and women’s cricket initiatives
  • Assist in enhancing national cricket structures
  • Share participation insights and best practices across regions
  • Collaborate with ICC global teams on participation products and services

High Performance

  • Deliver specialist coaching sessions where required
  • Implement the ICC High Performance Framework, with a strong focus on women’s cricket
  • Support Member teams in preparing for ICC tournaments and pathway events

Events & Operations

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of ICC pathway tournaments and regional cricket events

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Sports Science, Administration, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sports development (cricket experience preferred)
  • Experience working with National Olympic Committees or Asian Sports Federations is an advantage
  • Strong background in coach education, tutor management, or Level 2 coaching certification
  • Proven experience in event and tournament management, ideally at the international level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
  • Strong organizational, influencing, and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
