Role Overview

The Teller is responsible for providing front-line banking services while strictly following internal policies and operational guidelines. The position involves handling daily financial transactions, supporting branch operations, and ensuring accuracy and security in all banking activities. The role plays a key part in maintaining customer satisfaction and contributing to overall branch performance.

Main Responsibilities

The selected candidate will handle various operational and customer service duties, including:

• Accepting customer cash deposits and processing withdrawal requests accurately
• Posting transactions to customer accounts following banking procedures
• Issuing Demand Drafts (DDs) and Manager’s Cheques
• Performing foreign currency exchange transactions as per approved guidelines
• Processing internal fund transfers within assigned authorization limits
• Seeking necessary approvals for high-value or exceptional transactions
• Assisting with overall branch operational support
• Identifying opportunities to cross-sell or refer customers to other banking products
• Maintaining customer wait times below three minutes
• Handling internal transfer requests at teller counters
• Acting as Head Teller when required by management
• Verifying and signing daily transaction journals
• Managing end-of-day cash balancing and reporting discrepancies immediately

Service Standards & Compliance

Tellers must follow strict banking procedures to reduce operational risks and maintain compliance standards. Delivering fast, accurate, and professional customer service is a major responsibility. The role directly supports the bank’s commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.
