Role Purpose

The Merchandiser will work closely with the Brand Manager to develop and execute assortment strategies and financial plans that align with business targets. The role involves sales analysis, stock allocation, replenishment planning, and ensuring a balanced product mix across multiple retail stores.

This is a data-driven role that bridges buying, logistics, warehouse operations, and retail teams to drive profitability and growth.


Key Responsibilities

Merchandising & Financial Planning

  • Support pre-season budgeting and in-season forecasting
  • Manage open-to-buy budgets and merchandise planning for new stores
  • Develop merchandise plans for range presentations
  • Maintain the right product mix across categories and price points

Sales Reporting & Performance Analysis

  • Generate detailed sales and sell-through reports using Retail Pro or similar systems
  • Identify top and underperforming products by price, style, and color
  • Analyze seasonal trends and historical sales data
  • Recommend strategies to improve volume and margins

Inventory Management & Allocation

  • Oversee stock allocation and replenishment across stores
  • Coordinate inter-store transfers to maintain balanced inventory
  • Work with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries
  • Resolve product-related issues such as damages, repeats, and tracking

Market & Customer Insights

  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends
  • Gather customer feedback on product performance
  • Provide actionable insights to buying and brand teams

Documentation & Coordination

  • Prepare accurate reports and documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize commercial performance
