About the Driver Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and punctual driving services while maintaining professional standards expected within a diplomatic environment.

The role may involve transporting embassy employees, government officials, visitors, and delegations throughout Abu Dhabi and other locations in the UAE. The driver will also assist with vehicle inspections, maintenance records, trip logs, and other transport-related administrative duties.

Flexibility is required because additional hours or short-notice driving assignments may occasionally be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport embassy employees, officials, visitors, and delegations.
  • Maintain punctuality and provide professional customer service.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks, including tyres, oil, brake fluid, battery, and radiator levels.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, serviced, and maintained to an appropriate standard.
  • Record journeys, fuel usage, maintenance activities, and other required information.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct, particularly during official visits and VIP movements.
  • Respond to short-notice driving requirements when required.
  • Work flexibly according to operational needs.
  • Support other departments with relevant duties when necessary.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Currently reside in the UAE.
  • Hold a valid UAE residence visa and Emirates ID.
  • Possess a valid and clean UAE driving licence.
  • Be able to obtain a UAE Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Have good spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT tools.

Desirable Experience and Skills

The following would be advantageous:

  • Previous experience working as a driver for an embassy or diplomatic mission.
  • Good knowledge of Abu Dhabi roads and routes throughout the UAE.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and vehicle maintenance skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of Arabic.
