Role Purpose

The Junior Accountant – Revenue Recognition and Interline will play a key role in ensuring the accurate processing, verification, and reconciliation of revenue-related financial transactions. The role supports Emirates’ revenue integrity by managing fare audits, tax exceptions, proration issues, and customer account reconciliations.

You will also be responsible for generating accounting entries, processing refunds, clearing system exceptions, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

General Revenue Accounting

• Process revenue accounting transactions, raise invoices, and perform reconciliations
• Conduct fare and refund audits and clear system exceptions in line with ISO procedures
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain preventive and detective financial controls
• Support supervisors with month-end closing activities and ad-hoc finance tasks

Passenger Flown Revenue

• Amend fare construction strings in compliance with IATA standards
• Resolve proration exceptions using the RAPID system
• Validate journey details and ticket data for accuracy
• Handle tax exceptions and ensure collectible taxes match collected amounts
• Perform yield and fare checks to verify system correctness

Interline & Accounting Operations

• Reconcile sales, revenue clearing, and interline accounts
• Generate accounting entries for accruals, reversals, exchange differences, and adjustments
• Prepare invoices, billing memos, and credit notes after required approvals
• Audit inward bills and raise rejections for discrepancies as per finance procedures

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Finance or Insurance Accounts
• Strong foundation in accounting and financial operations

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of fare revenue protection, ticketing, fare rules, and GDS systems
• IATA qualification is an added advantage
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
